Commander Robert Jeffreys (6 April, 1875 – 3 February, 1915) was an officer in the Royal Navy who died in command of an armed merchant cruiser lost in February, 1915.
Life & Career
Jeffreys was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 1897.
Jeffreys was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1908.
Jeffreys was appointed in command of the destroyer Star on 21 November, 1911.[1]
Jeffreys was appointed to Template:UK-ClanMcNaughton on 23 November, 1914, to assume command upon her commissioning as an Armed Merchant Cruiser. He was lost with his entire crew when the ship vanished in early February in a heavy storm nortwest of Scotland.
