Commander (retired) Frederick Wilfred Law, R.N. (5 September, 1882 – 25 September, 1932) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Toronto, the son of retired Commander Frederick C. Law, R.N..
Law was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 March, 1904.
Law was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 March, 1912.
On 25 November, 1915, Law was appointed in command of the Q-ship Lameroo. She was sunk under his command by U 38 with the loss of two crewmen on 14 August, 1916. On 14 October, he was appointed in command of H.M.S. Heather, which would also operate as Q16.
On 18 May, 1917, he was appointed in charge of an anti-submarine instruction course at Cardiff.
Post-War
Law continued his work at Cardiff until 29 January, 1919.
Law was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Commander on 10 April, 1925.
