Admiral SIR Ralph Leatham, K.C.B. (3 March, 1886 – 10 March, 1954) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Heath, Yorkshire, the son of Samuel G. Leatham, Esq., Builder.
Leatham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1906.
Great War
Leatham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1914 while serving as torpedo officer in Carnarvon. On 13 April, 1915 he was appointed to the torpedo training school H.M.S. Vernon, additional
Leatham was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1917.
Leatham was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1924.
Leatham was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 5 January, 1936.
In 1937 he was appointed Chairman of the Ventilation Committee, vice Vice-Admiral Cunningham.
World War II
Leatham was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 August, 1939.
Leatham was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 9 December, 1943.
Retired 1 February, 1946.
