Captain (retired) William Philip Lodder, R.N. (30 July, 1863 – 6 May, 1921) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of a Royal Navy Captain.
Lodder was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 21 June, 1887.
Lodder was appointed to the Victory for the first class protected cruiser Terrible as Navigating Lieutenant on 26 May, 1896.[1]
On 10 May, 1897, Lodder commanded the new destroyer Whiting on her first official trial.[2]
Lodder was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1900.[3]
Lodder was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Captain on 22 November, 1909.
Lodder was appointed in command of the battleship Jupiter on 15 November, 1917.[4]
Lodder reverted to the Retired List on 29 November, 1918, antedated to 15 November, 1918.
