Vice-Admiral Alexander George McKechnie, Royal Navy, Retired (1843 – 4 March, 1910) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was the son of Alexander McKechnie, M.D., an Inspector-General of Hospitals and Fleets.[1]


McKechnie was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1884.

He was in receipt of a Captain's Good Service Pension from October, 1896 until March, 1898, when he was placed on the Retired List.[2] He was promoted to Rear-Admiral on the Retired List on 22 June 1899, and to Vice-Admiral (Retired) on 10 February 1904.

He died at No. 32, Norland Square, Notting Hill in London, on 4 March, 1910.[3]
