Lieutenant-Commander (retired) Charles Bruce Stiven, R.N. (31 July, 1876 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Stiven was promoted to the rank of acting Gunner (T) on 27 January, 1904 and confirmed in the rank on 2 February, 1905.

Stiven was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner (T) on 13 September, 1918.

Stiven was appointed in command of the trawler Thomas Haggerty from June, 1919 to 15 July, 1921.

Stiven was appointed in command of the trawler Kate Lewis from 15 July, 1921 to 1 May, 1922.

Stiven was appointed in command of the trawler Strathcoe from 31 July, 1922. He was re-appointed in command upon his promotion to the rank of Lieutenant on 12 August, 1922 and remained in command when she was renamed Vernon on 1 January, 1924. He was finally superseded in command on 28 July, 1926.

Stiven was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 31 July, 1926 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 12 August, 1930.
