Captain Jocelyn Latham Storey, C.B.E., D.S.O., R.N. (19 March, 1898 – 20 September, 1969) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of W. C. Storey, a former naval architect passed out of the Training Establishment and was appointed to the battleship Canopus when the war broke out. In early 1916, he was appointed to the battlecruiser Queen Mary.[1]
As a Midshipman, Storey was the senior uninjured survivor of the destruction of H.M.S. Queen Mary at the Battle of Jutland. Later in the war, he served in the super-dreadnoughts Malaya and Barham.[2]
Storey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1918.[3]
Storey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1926.[4]
Storey was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1932.[5]
World War II
Storey was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1939.[6]
Placed on the Retired List on 8 January, 1949.[7]
