Commander Clement Charles Swift, R.N. (6 February, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Swift entered the Royal Navy with the January, 1897 intake term at H.M.S. Britannia, passing in 7th of sixty-three in order of merit with 1504 marks in the competitive entrance examinations.[1]
Swift was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 6 February, 1904.[2]
Swift was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 6 February, 1912.[3]
On 7 November, 1912, he was appointed to the pre-dreadnought Duncan as her navigation officer.[4] On 16 March, 1914, Swift was appointed to provide the same services in the battleship Britannia.[5]
On 8 September, 1917, he was appointed to the Egmont for work in Malta.[6]
Swift was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1918.[7]
