Commander William Napier Kingdon, R.N., Retired (17 September, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of H. Napier Kingdon, Esq., a tutor.
Kingdon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 July, 1915.[1]
Post-War
Kingdon was appointed to the Mersey-class trawler Richard Jewell on 28 February, 1920, to take command upon her commissioning. He returned to Tring as first officer on Richard Jewell paying off around May, 1920.[2]
Kingdon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 July, 1923.[3]
Kingdon was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 14 September, 1936.[4]
World War II
In 1939, appointed to Tamas as Port Minesweeping Officer.
Reverted to the Retired List on 29 November, 1947.
