Captain (retired) Eric Fitz Gerald Wharton, (12 October, 1891 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of solicitor J. H. F. Wharton, Esq., B.A..
Wharton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 July, 1914.[1]
Wharton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 July, 1922.[2]
From 1929 to 1932, Wharton commanded the fishery protection vessels Kennet and Liffey.[3]
Wharton was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 15 November, 1934.[4]
World War II
He performed a variety of services.
In recognition of his wartime service, Wharton was promoted to the rank of Captain on 3 September, 1946.[5]
