Captain (retired) Hubert Stansbury, C.B., C.B.E., R.N. (9 May, 1873 – 11 June, 1949) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of W. P. Stansbury, Esq..[1]
Stansbury was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in August, 1893.[2]
In 1904, he was thanked for his design for an automatic sight for heavy naval guns, which were considered for adoption.[3]
Stansbury was promoted to the rank of Commander in December, 1905.[4]
Stansbury was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 24 August, 1910 with the rank of Captain.[5]
Stansbury served as a Transport Officer in a variety of capacities in the Great War, including "route giving" duties at Norfolk, Virginia in 1918. He reverted to the Retired List on 15 November, 1919.[6]
