Lieutenant-Commander Edmond Poole Gabbett, (30 August, 1884 – 22 September, 1914) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Gabbett was born in London.
Gabbett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in October, 1899.[1]
Gabbett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in October, 1907.[2]
In March 1912, Gabbett was blamed for a "lackness[sic] and want of attention" following the sinking of a dive boat.
Gabbett was appointed to the armoured cruiser H.M.S. Cressy as navigator for the Test Mobilisation and died when she was sunk by U 9 on 22 September, 1914.[3]
