Commander (retired) Archibald Elder Desmond Campbell Duthy, (14 August, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Colonel A. R. Duthy of the Royal Artillery.

Early in the Great War, Duthy served in Marlborough and Cossack and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1915. On 9 December he was appointed to the battleship Valiant and saw action in her at the Battle of Jutland.[1]

Duthy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1923.[2]

Duthy was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 16 April, 1937.[3]

World War II

He reverted to the Retired List on 6 November, 1945.
