Commander (retired) George Frederick Elson (20 June, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Elson was promoted to the rank of Acting Warrant Officer on 18 December, 1913.[1]

Elson served in T.B. 31 and T.B. 33 from the outset of the war through 12 June, 1916, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 18 April, 1916. On 13 June, 1916 he was appointed to the destroyer Tigress. He served in Loyal from 14 November 1917 until being appointed in command of T.B. 16 on 11 March 1918.[2]

Elson left T.B. 16 when he was appointed in command of the patrol boat P25 on 20 December, 1918.[3]

Elson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 18 April, 1924.[4]

In December 1927, he was not recommended for promotion.

Elson was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Commander on 23 June, 1928.[5]
