Admiral Edward Stanley Adeane, C.M.G., F.R.G.S., Royal Navy (7 December, 1836 – 18 October, 1902) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Adeane was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 25 February, 1858.[1]
Adeane was promoted to the rank of Commander on 8 September, 1864.[2]
Adeane was promoted to the rank of Captain on 24 July, 1871.[3]
In 1877 Adeane became a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.[4]
Adeane was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 January, 1888.[5]
On 13 May, 1893, Adeane was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral, vice Culme-Seymour.[6]
Adeane was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 19 March, 1898, vice Heneage.[7]
Adeane died at his home, Jacob's Farm, Seddlescombe, Battle, at age 66.[8]
