Vice-Admiral Henry Jack Egerton, C.B., R.N., Retired (29 March, 1892 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Egerton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 May, 1914.

Post-War

Egerton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 May, 1922.

Egerton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1927.

Egerton was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1934.

World War II

Egerton was appointed in command of the light cruiser Bonaventure from 29 March, 1940 until she was torpedoed and lost on 31 March, 1941.

Egerton was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 January, 1944.

Egerton was placed on the Retired List with the rank of Vice-Admiral on 4 January, 1948.
