Captain (retired) Gerald Percival Bowen, O.B.E. (3 December, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Ludlow, Bowen listed his mother was his guardian when he joined the September 1904 intake term at H.M.S. Britannia.[1]
Bowen was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1910.[2]
Bowen was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1918.[3]
Bowen was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1923.[4]
He was placed on the Retired List at his own request ast the rank of Captain on 14 December, 1935.[5]
World War II
He began wartime service as the Extended Defence Officer at Portland on 28 September, 1938.
