Captain (retired) Albert Edward Acheson, C.B.E. (2 May, 1862 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Acheson was granted the probationary rank of Lieutenant on 31 October, 1895 and was confirmed in the rank on 7 June, 1897. He would suffer apoplexy some time around 1898.[1]
Acheson was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 2 May, 1907, seemingly at the rank of Commander. In April and May 1910, he brushed up in torpedoes and gunnery at Vernon and Excellent.[2]
He was called up on 1 August, 1914 and fulfilled a variety of Transport Officer duties during the war in the rank of retired Commander.[3]
Acheson reverted to the Retired List on 22 August, 1919 and was promoted to Captain (retired) in recognition of his wartime service, dated 11 November, 1918.[4]
