Lieutenant Charles Buckland (20 December, 1882 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Buckland was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 19 October, 1910.[1] He was deemed "suitable for (G) [gunnery] duties".[2]
At the outbreak of war, Buckland was appointed to the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 34. In April 1915 he was appointed to Arrogant for instruction in submarines.[3]
He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 7 September, 1915.[4]
A Webley pistol went missing aboard L 11 between 24 September 1920 and 8 October 1920. Buckland was instructed to be more careful in the oversight of service arms in future.[5]
Buckland was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the submarine L 22 on 1 December, 1920.[6]
Buckland was placed on the Retired List on 15 December, 1922 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 7 September, 1923.[7]
Buckland was promoted to the rank of Commander on the Retired List on 20 December, 1922[sic].[8]
