Admiral Arthur Wartensleben Ewart, Royal Navy, Retired (23 December, 1862 – 18 November, 1922) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Ewart was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 23 June, 1883.[1]
Ewart was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1895.[2]
Captain
Ewart was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1901.[3]
He was appointed to command the destroyer Duncan on 4 December, 1906.[4]
On 2 February, 1909, Ewart was appointed to the battleship Ramillies and for command of a group of Special Service vessels at Devonport.[5]
He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 15 March, 1911, vice Jackson,[6] and, in accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, was placed on the Retired List on 15 May.[7]
He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 9 June, 1916.[8]
He was advanced to Admiral on the Retired List on 17 January, 1919.[9]
