Admiral Ronald Arthur Hopwood, C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (7 December, 1858 – 28 December, 1949) was an officer of the Royal Navy and also a writer and poet of some distinction.
Life & Career
He was appointed to command the battleship Prince of Wales on 20 November, 1910.[1]
He was captain of Hercules between December of 1911, perhaps until as late as June 1913 though it is possible he was relieved earlier.[2]
He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 31 July, 1924,[3] and advanced to Admiral on the Retired List on 22 February, 1928.[4]
