Captain (retired) Charles Reginald Curtis, R.N. (23 November, 1868 – 26 March, 1945) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of a reverend.
Curtis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1891.[1]
Curtis was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1904.[2]
Curtis commanded Sheerness Depot from 28 January 1908 to 10 January, 1911. After 10 days in command of the battleship Ocean, years of Coast Guard work, first at Ilfracombe, carried him to 1919.[3]
Admitted to Plymouth Hospital with neurasthenia on 28 May, 1919, it seemed as though Curtis was done. Curtis was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Captain on 5 June, 1919 (adjustted from 18 June).[4]
