Lieutenant-Commander Edmund Digby Maxwell Robertson (21 March, 1887 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Colonel H. M. Robertson.[1]
Robertson was awarded the Commander Egerton Prize for 1910-11.[2]
Robertson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1907.[3]
Having obtained a Royal Aero Club certificate on 22 December, 1913, Robertson went to the Central Flying School for instruction on 27 January, 1914 for "about 3 weeks". He graduated on 11 March and was made a Flight Lieutenant on 1 July. As the war started, he was placed in command of the seaplane carrier Riviera.[4]
Robertson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 January, 1915.[5]
Granted a permanent commission as a Wing Commander, R.A.F. on 1 August, 1919.[6]
