Commander Hector du Plessis Richardson, D.S.O. (14 August, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
The son of Engineer Captain J. Richardson, R.N..[1]
Life & Career
Richardson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1922.[2]
Richardson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1930.[3]
Richardson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1937.[4]
World War II
Richardson was awarded the D.S.O. for his service in the withdrawal from Dunkirk.
Appointed to Exeter as executive officer on 10 September, 1940, he was taken prisoner by the Japanese after Exeter was sunk on 1 March, 1942.
He was placed on the Retired List as medically unfit on 13 August, 1950.[5]
