Admiral Edward Francis Bruen, C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (7 November, 1866 – 22 November, 1952) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Early Life & Career
Bruen was a dreadnought captain during the First World War, commanding the Bellerophon at the Battle of Jutland in 1916. After the battle he was appointed to command the new battleship Resolution.
Bruen was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 28 September, 1917, vice Thorp.[1]
On 1 May, 1920, Bruen was appointed Director of Naval Equipment in succession to Rear-Admiral Edward M. Phillpotts.[2]
