Commander (retired) Philip Vere Kilgour, R.N. (12 October, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Madura, Madras.
Kilgour was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1904.
Kilgour was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1912.
Kilgour was appointed to the battleship Triumph on 7 March, 1914. He survived her sinking off the Dardanelles on 25 May, 1915 and was then appointed to serve ashore at Duala until he was ordered to return to England in March, 1916.
Kilgour then served in sloops through the end of the war, spending eighteen months in command of Hollyhock.
Post-War
Kilgour was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 12 October, 1923.
