Captain (retired) William Duncan Phipps, C.V.O., R.N. (16 June, 1882 – 2 June, 1967) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Chelsea the son of merchant W. W. Phipps.

Phipps was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1904.

Phipps was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1912.

Phipps was promoted to the rank of Commander on 1 August, 1915.

Retired at his own request on 17 August, 1920.

Phipps was promoted to the rank of Captain on 16 June, 1927.
