Admiral Denis William Boyd, K.C.B., C.B.E., D.S.C. (6 March, 1891 – 1965) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

It appears that Boyd entered Royal Naval College, Dartmouth directly – part of the Royal Navy's transition from training new cadets in H.M.S. Britannia as the new scheme was being primed.[1][Fact Check]

Boyd was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1911.

Boyd was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1919.

Boyd was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1924. Lent to Royal Australian Navy in 1926.

Boyd was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1931.

Boyd was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 July, 1941.

Boyd was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 30 June, 1944.
