SIR Melvill Willis Ward, Baronet, D.S.C., R.N. (25 May, 1885 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Woolwich.
On 9 February 1906 he was appointed to the Royal yacht H.M.Y. Victoria and Albert.
On 31 August, 1906 Commodore of H.M. Yachts reported he was unable to recommend Ward for promotion, as he had left the deck for over an hour while officer of the watch at a time when the Queen was aboard.
On 19 October, 1906, his resignation was accepted.
On 7 August, 1914, Ward was placed on the Emergency List at the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 30 July, 1907.
Ward was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 July, 1915.
Ward was promoted to the rank of Commander on the Emergency List on 8 May, 1946.
