Captain Denis Granville Thynne, C.M.G., Royal Navy (17 October, 1875 – 18 December, 1955) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

While in H.M.S. Agincourt Thynne had a pet bull terrier named "Nick".

"For valuable services in command of a Minelayer for eighteen months," he was appointed an Additional Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (C.M.G.) on 24 March, 1919.[1]
