U.S.S. Arctic was one of three Arctic Class stores ships acquired by the U.S. Navy soon after their construction.
Service
Yamhill was acquired from the Shipping Board on 4 November, 1921 for use as a store ship, and renamed Arctic on 2 November, 1921.
