H.M.S. Wizard was one of forty-two "A" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "27 knotter".
Service
In mid-1913, at Portsmouth.[7]
She was the only destroyer built with in-turning screws, an unfortunate innovation that rendered her nearly uncontrollable in any harbour or riverine manoeuvring where one screw might have to be reversed. Lieutenant Lionel George Dawson was in command for just one week and had no difficulty getting into two docking accidents.[8]
