He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1905.[2]
Hyde was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1912.[3]

He stayed in North Russia until 1 December, 1919 with some of his time being as Senior Naval Officer, White Sea and as S.N.O., Archangel.[5]
Hyde was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 24 July, 1922 and placed on the Retired List by his own request the next day.[6]
He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 14 January, 1928.[7]
Hyde committed suicide "while of unsound mind" on 26 November, 1931.[8]
