Captain (retired) Philip Agnew Bateman-Champain, R.N. (20 October, 1873 – 16 May, 1958) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Bateman-Champain's mother, Lady Bateman-Champain was his guardian when he joined the Navy.
Bateman-Champain was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1895.
Bateman-Champain was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1906.[1]
Bateman-Champain's career was distinguished by his commanding the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla for nearly the entire period of the Great War.
Bateman-Champain was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1920.
