Captain (retired) Basil Owen Bell-Salter, (28 March, 1888 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Ryke, Regis the son of a reverend.
Bell-Salter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1910.
Post-War
Bell-Salter was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1918.
Bell-Salter was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1925.
Bell-Salter was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 1 February, 1934. He was given permission to accept service in the Colombian Navy, subject to the provisions of the Foreign Enlistment Act.
Bell-Salter was promoted to the rank of Acting Captain on 10 November, 1938.
