Commander (retired) Edmund Francis FitzGerald (25 April, 1888 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy. His last name might well have been Fitzgerald.
Life & Career
Born in R.N. Hospital, Esquimalt the son of an Inspector General, seemingly of R.N. Hospitals.
FitzGerald was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1910.[1]
FitzGerald was appointed in command of the destroyer Scout on 24 May, 1918.[2]
FitzGerald was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1918.[3]
He was appointed in command of the destroyer Vortigern in November, 1920.[4]
FitzGerald was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Commander on 3 November, 1929.[5]
World War II
FitzGerald was promoted to the rank of Captain on 15 February, 1941.[6]
Reverted to the Retired List on 15 June, 1946.
