Captain Robert Gordon Duke, (9 May, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Brechin, N.B..
Duke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1911. Before the war, he served in Goshawk as first and navigating officer and during the war he served in Attentive as navigating officer.[1]
Duke was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1919.[2]
Duke was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1925. In November 1927, he was lent to the Royal Australian Navy for two years.[3]
Duke was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1932.[4]
World War II
Duke was placed on the Retired List on 6 February, 1942.[5]
