Commander (retired) Edmund Rodenhurst Dodd, (30 December, 1895 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Dodd was specially promoted to the rank of Lieutenant for gallantry in action on 15 May, 1917, adjusted to 15 February, 1917.[1]
Dodd was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1925.[2]
Dodd was appointed in command of U 126 from 18 August, 1921 to 24 September, 1921. Following a grounding at Oban in 1922 and a collision with Vancouver in 1924, he was cautioned to be more careful in future, took a period of leave while the submarine was undergoing repair, and was found by Admiral Sinclair to be "unsuited for command of a submarine."[3]
Dodd was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 December, 1935.[4]
