Lieutenant-Commander George Pearson Glen Kidston, (23 June, 1899 – 5 May, 1931) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Kidston was appointed to the armoured cruiser Hogue on the outbreak of war and survived her sinking on 22 September, 1914. On 25 October, he was appointed to the dreadnought Orion. He would leave her on 6 January, 1918 to be trained for submarines at Dolphin.[1]
On 30 March 1918, he was sent to serve in submarines attached to Ambrose. On 22 August, his posting was changed to work with the submarines working under Titania.[2]
Kidston was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 February, 1920.[3]
Following a four submarine Baltic cruise while in command of H 48, Kidston was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 February, 1928. He was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 7 September, 1928.[4]
He died in an airplane accident in 1931.[5]
