Commander George Arthur Thring, (13 September, 1903 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
As with many men born c. 1899 or later, his Service Records at The National Archives do not reflect activity between 1931 and 1939 or so.
Life & Career
After service in Carysfort and Ramillies, Thring took courses in Physical & Recreational Training and submarines. As a Sub-Lieutenant, he served in Hawkins, from 6 July 1925 through August 1927, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 January, 1926.[1]
Thring was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 January, 1934.[Inference]
Thring was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1941.[2]
