John Robert Ebenezer Pattisson
Admiral John Robert Ebenezer Pattisson, Royal Navy, Retired (10 December, 1844 – 13 February, 1928) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
Pattisson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 21 June, 1867.[1]
Pattisson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 July, 1879.[2]
Pattisson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 1 January, 1886.[3] On 12 May, 1887, he was appointed in command of Thalia. He paid her off on 21 August, 1888.[4] On the very next day, he was appointed in command of the Indian troopship Euphrates.[5][6] He was loaned to Melpomene for manoeuvres in 1889, and returned to Euphrates until being superseded in her on 25 August, 1891, in March of 1891 being scolded for damaging Euphrate's Steam Pinnace no. 170 in the Suez Canal through a lack of precaution.[7]

Pattisson was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 26 October, 1899, vice Vander-Meulen.[8]
Pattisson was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 26 November, 1904, vice Fellowes. In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 27 November.[9]
He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 30 June, 1908.[10]
Pattisson succumbed to syncope and senile decay at Rodbourne, Tonbridge on 13 February, 1928.[11]
