Commander (retired) Arthur Perfect Meredith Lewes, D.S.C., R.N. (3 July, 1889 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in London, the son of Colonel H. A. Lewes, Arthur Lewes gained two and a half months' time on passing out of Britannia.
Lewes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1911.
Lewes was awarded the Shadwell Testimonial in 1912 for a survey he created of the Santa Maria Canal and Port Drepano in the Loman Isles.
Post-War
Lewes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1919.
Lewes was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Commander on 3 July, 1934.
