H.M.S. Vidette was one of twenty-five "V" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.

Service

Vidette was commissioned on 18 April, 1918.[6]

She was re-commissioned at Port Edgar on 27 September, 1923. By March 1925, she was operating with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla as part of the Atlantic Fleet.[7]

After paying off into Dockyard Control at Devonport on 2 June, 1927,[8] she commissioned at Devonport 26 August, 1927 for service with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla in the Atlantic.[9]

Re-commissioned at Devonport 27 April, 1931 for service with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla in the Atlantic,[10] where she remained until at least early 1933.[11]

She transferred to the Reserve Fleet at Devonport on 17 May, 1935.[12]

Commissioned at Devonport on 6 May, 1936 for service with the First Anti-Submarine Flotilla at Portland.[13]
