Lieutenant William Leslie Berridge, (28 July, 1899 – 10 April, 1926) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Berridge was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in June, 1919.[1]
Berridge won the Beaufort and Wharton Testimonial for the year 1920.[2]
Berridge died in the Civil General Hospital in Penang from a spinal fracture sustained in a swimming accident in which he struck the sea bed "after descending the chute at Penang Swimming Club".[3]
Founded in 1903, the Penang Swimming Club is still in operation, and sports a website.
