Admiral Arthur David Ricardo, C.B., Royal Navy, Retired (14 September, 1861 – 11 February, 1931) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Life & Career

Ricardo was promoted to the rank of Commander on 22 June, 1897.[1]

Ricardo was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1903.[2]

Ricardo was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 7 March, 1914, vice Rolleston.[3]

Great War

On 9 August, 1915 he was appointed Admiral Superintendent of Chatham Dockyard.[4] He was relieved by Rear-Admiral William E. Goodenough on 1 May, 1919.[5] On 26 January, 1920, he was placed on the Retired List at his own request.[6] He was advanced to the rank of Admiral on the Retired List on 3 March, 1924.[7]
