Commander Edward Henry Longsdon, (14 January, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Reverend W. H. Longsdon. Longsdon served in the battleship Marlborough from 1 January, 1915 through 12 March, 1917 and then took a five-day course in Torpedo Control at Portsmouth.

Longsdon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1918.

Longsdon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1926. From 1927 to 1930, he was on loan to the New Zealand Division.

Longsdon was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1931.

Longsdon was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 14 January, 1946. He offer of his services in 1948 was duly noted.
