H.M.S. Archer was one of eight Archer Class torpedo cruisers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

Archer was first commissioned for the Jubilee Naval Review of 1887, on 7 July, 1887.[6]

Archer was commissioned at Devonport on 11 December, 1888 under Commander John Ferris for service on the China Station.[7]
