Service

Phaeton was due to begin refitting at Esquimalt at the end of December 1901, but this was delayed by the disappearance of the sloop Condor during a cruise from Esquimalt to Honolulu. Phaeton was sent out to search for the Condor on 20 January, 1902.[6]
