Rear-Admiral SIR Wellwood George Courtenay Maxwell, K.B.E., C.M.G., D.L. (11 August, 1882 – 9 July, 1965) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Maxwell was commander in H.M.A.S. Australia before the end of the war.
He commanded the monitor H.M.S. Lord Clive in 1921. On 2 February 1922 became Maintenance Commander on the staff of the Commander-in-Chief at Rosyth.
He commanded Valiant from December 1931 until August 1933.[1]
