In 1919, Lupin was one of many mine-sweeping vessels tasked with post-war mine clearance. Her captain, Barry Victor Sturdee was censured after she collided with the S.S. Annie Johnson during the course of 1919.[6]

Lupin was paid off on 29 November, 1920.[7]

She was re-commissioned at Sheerness on 24 July, 1924.[8] The ship would serve in the Persian Gulf from 1924 until going to the Red Sea in October 1930.[9]

Lupin was re-commissioned at Bombay on 21 November, 1928 for service in the East Indies.[10]

She was re-commissioned at Malta on 29 October, 1930.[11]

In late 1931, Lupin returned home from the Red Sea Division to be placed in reserve, her place to be taken by Penzance.[12]

The ship commissioned at Portsmouth on 21 February, 1933 for service in the East Indies.[13]

Lupin re-commissioned at Bombay on 8 March, 1935.[14]

The sloop was commissioned at Sheerness on 17 April, 1936.[15]
